Discover Your Potential Through Real Career Experience
These courses are specially designed for students aged 16–19 who are currently working towards their A Levels and want to explore potential career paths. They give you the chance to ‘test-drive’ your chosen profession offering a genuine insight into what it’s like to work in that area. Over the five days you’ll take part in practical activities, gain valuable hands-on experience and develop skills that will boost your confidence and understanding of the workplace. The experience will also strengthen your university applications providing plenty of topics to draw on in personal statements and interviews. In addition our 5-day residential courses for 16–19-year-olds can count as the residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award making them an enjoyable and worthwhile way to spend part of your summer.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award
BioGrad is an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. This course may be used as your Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential Award, which can be signed off by the course leader on the final day.
Please provide your Duke of Edinburgh Award number on your registration form at the time of booking your course.
Students using this course for their GOLD residential must stay at Quest Aparthotel. Please note course fee does not include accommodation fee.
Accommodation MUST be paid at least 28 days in advance of course commencement.
Evening Activities
Evening activities form an important part of the criteria for completing the residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. At BioGrad Education, we believe they offer far more than that. When students are able to enjoy their experience both inside the laboratories and clinics, as well as outside them, their overall experience is enriched and their learning is enhanced.
We are devoted to creating an environment where our students can relax, socialise and build lasting friendships. These shared experiences help students form connections and professional networks that they can carry with them throughout their lives.

Safeguarding
We are fully committed to providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for all students aged 16–19 who take part in our courses. The welfare and wellbeing of every student is our highest priority.
All members of staff involved in our programmes receive safeguarding and child protection training and hold an enhanced DBS check. Every activity, including residential stays used as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, is carefully planned and risk assessed to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.
Students are encouraged to speak to a member of staff if they ever feel worried, unsafe or have concerns about themselves or others. Any safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and sensitively, in accordance with our safeguarding policy and UK legislation.
